Roberto Dinamite was one of the most iconic players in the history of Vasco da Gama. He arrived at the club in 1971, and at only 17 years old, he made his debut in the first team and became a reference in the team's attack.



In his 20 years at the club, Roberto Dinamite stood out for his goal-scoring ability and his leadership capacity on the field. He scored 708 goals in 1,110 matches, making him the top scorer in the club's history and one of the greatest scorers in Brazilian soccer.



In the 1978 Campeonato Carioca season, Dinamite scored 33 goals in 35 games, making it one of the best scoring performances in the history of Brazilian soccer in a state tournament.



One of Roberto Dinamite's most important achievements with Vasco da Gama was the conquest of the Brasileirāo in 1974 and 1989. In both championships, Dinamite was the team's top scorer and the most important player in winning the title.



In addition to national titles, Dinamite also won several state titles with the club, including the Campeonato Carioca in 1977, 1982, 1987, 1988 and 1992.



Once retired, he used his charisma to become a successful politician for the Brazilian Social Democracy Party. He was also president of Vasco da Gama, where he will always be loved.



On January 8, 2023, he passed away from intestinal cancer. He will always be in the memory of soccer fans and, above all, Vasco Da Gama fans.
